This landscape painting is of the hamlet where I live. The mountain that dominates the scene is called Naudech, and the view from the top is magnificent. It is even possible to drive there if you have a very sturdy vehicle. Our neighbours take great care of the landscape. In times past every inch was cultivated but many of the small vineyards In the winter the population dwindles, but the summer sees an influx of holiday makers, many of whom have been coming here for decades. It is a second home for many. In this painting I have tried to capture the tranquillity and gentle beauty that brings people back time and again. |
